What To Bring

Bringing the right gear ensures your safari is safe, comfortable, and successful. From essential hunting equipment to practical clothing and travel documents, we’ve compiled a detailed checklist to help you pack with confidence. Whether you’re heading into the Kalahari or the Zimbabwean bush, being properly prepared lets you focus on what matters — the hunt.

Packing List

  • Light, comfortable, waterproof, and well-worn in hiking boots with good ankle support.
  • Gaiters
  • A pair of hiking sneakers for some days
  • Thick breathable hiking socks
  • Light weight, dark color (greens or real tree), warm jacket
  • Comfortable shoes (Sneakers or flip-flops for the evenings
  • Wide brimmed Hat or Cap
  • Warm sweater / Fleece jacket
  • 2 pairs safari pants
  • 2 pairs shorts
  • Breathable socks
  • Underwear (Ladies – sports bras may be needed)
  • 1 or 2 long sleeve light-weight safari shirts
  • 3 t-shirts
  • Nightwear
  • 1 pair casual trousers (men) evening outfit (women) – for evening -jeans/cotton trousers.
  • Real tree, dark and olive-green coloured clothing is recommended when hunting. Please don’t bring military style camouflage, as it is illegal in most African countries.

Drugs

  • Sugar substitutes
  • Aspirin/Tylenol/Advil
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Rehydration tablets or powders
  • Anti-malarial tablets
  • Band aids and blister plasters
  • Extra pair of prescription glasses or contact lens plus contact lens solution.
  • Eye drops
  • Imodium
  • Anti-nausea/vomiting drugs
  • Indigestion/heartburn/gas remedies
  • Anti-insect bite cream
  • Antihistamine
  • Hay fever medication
  • Prescription medication
  • Insect repellent
  • Motion sickness pills (especially if you get plane sick)

Toiletries

  • Please pack what you usually use for travelling. Soaps and shampoos provided in camp if you don’t wish to bring your own.
  • Wet wipes
  • After sun/sun block please no less than factor 30.
  • Chap stick or similar lip salve.

Documents

  • Passports – must have 6 months validity (with visa entries).
  • Health cards (vaccination certificate).
  • PCR Tests- if required.
  • Passenger Locater form – if required.
  • Airline tickets / E-tickets.
  • Cash
  • Credit Cards (VISA, Master- card and / or American Express).
  • Photo-copy of passport / visas / insurance papers.

Other Supplies

  • Phone & Phone charger.
  • Camera plus chargers etc.
  • Sunglasses / Case.
  • Prescription glasses (and a spare pair).
  • Flashlight or head torch.
  • Batteries (for electronic equipment).
  • Converter plug set if needed (Mains power supply is 220 Volt, 50 Hz). Sockets are usually 3 pin and are of the square variety.
  • Binoculars (very important, one pair per person. For most people magnification of 8x or 10x is ideal).
  • Small Day backpack.
  • Favorite energy snacks.
  • Earplugs
  • Please do not bring valuable jewellery.
